![She’s been the star of the show today! It’s, like, all about Trudy. She’s really, really cute, if I do say so myself. I got her about a month and a half ago. She’s just a little puppy. She just made me take her home, so I had to and now I’m really happy because she’s the part of family. She’s really sweet. She stepped in some white paint and I didn’t realize until I came back and I saw footsteps of her entire pathway through the studio! I thought it was adorable, I don’t know what anybody else thought, but [laughs].
I will sing to my dog. I have a song for her that I sing. And the only lyrics to it is, ‘Trudy, she’s a dog.’ That’s the only lyric. It’s very melodic and she loves it. She knows it’s her song.”
Just Jared - Can you explain why you named your dog, Trudy? Leighton - It started because everything that I was saying I would agree to somebody, or agree with someone, I would say ‘true’. Then it just turned into Trudy. And then now I call her everything from Trudy Garland, to Judge Trudy, to Trucephine Baker, to Aunt Trumima, Aunt Gertrude, Truoncé, Triah Carey.
